Guild Rules

General


1 - Age restriction. This guild will accept no one under 18 years of age.

2 - No excessive swearing or vulgarity in type or over Ventrilo. Many of our members will have children around their PC’s and will not wish for them to be exposed to such language or ideas. This rule is relaxed somewhat in the evenings past 21:00 server time.

3 - Be polite. If you do not like something say it nicely or not at all.

4 - Discrimination. Sexism, racism, or any other form of discrimination will not be tolerated at all.

5 - Do not spam chat channels. This includes excessive macroed messages and item linking. Our members may be doing something that requires them to read their party or whisper logs.

6 - Taking advantage or scamming. Not everyone in the game is experienced, do not take advantage of this. Do not attempt to scam other players. This will be viewed as a major infringement and will result in your removal from the guild.

7 - Selling items within the Guild. Please do not use the guild as another trade channel. If you have an item to sell, sell it in the Auction House or the citywide trade channel. Profession items you are able to make should be offered to guild for materials only.

8 - Guild representation. While a member of this guild you must represent the guild in the best possible light. We will not tolerate our image being tarnished by our members being immature/rude, etc in public chat channels (Trade/General/Battleground/Local Defence/Say/Party/Yell, etc).

9 - Forum. It is extremely important that you do not share your forum access details with anyone. Anything written under your login will be considered as your act.

10 - Boosting. First time characters at that level should not be boosted through instances or quests by characters a lot higher than themselves (10 levels or more). This is not to be unhelpful, everyone must learn how to play WoW and this will not happen via boosting. Boosting first timers will impede their learning rather than aid it.

11 - If you have requested something in guild chat. Do not whisper those who have not answered your request. No response from another player should be taken as a “no”. This also extends to begging for gold/items or unsolicited instance requests.

12 - Disputes with the guild or members of the guild. These should be addressed to the officers in absolute privacy. Making public comments to highlight your displeasure will not be tolerated.

13 - Bullying. Any hint of a member bullying another will be dealt with quickly and severely. We will not tolerate our members being victimised.

14 - Inactivity. If you know you are going to be inactive for anything over one week, you must let an officer know either via forum PM or an in game mail prior to your absence and give an estimated timescale. Failure to do so could result in your removal from the guild.

15 - Discussions with officers. When discussing any issue with an officer you must do so in a calm fashion. We will not tolerate our officers being subject to any sort of verbal abuse.

16 - Confidentiality. Any information given to one officer will be shared with all other officers, that information will not be disclosed further than this to anyone without your express permission.


The rules laid out here are expected to be followed both on the forum and over Ventrilo. These are also on top of the official Blizzard rules and regulations. We will take steps against anyone we know to have contravened the overall game regulations.



Ranks

Trial Rank


All new members are subject to a minimum two week trial period.

All new guild members must register on the forum within the first week of their trial. This will give ample time to have read and ingested our Guild Rules.

We will not accept alt characters of people on trial.

At the end of the two week trial an anonymous vote will be made by the officers on whether to accept said trial as a full member or remove them from guild. In some circumstances we will consider granting a one week extension of the trial period, such as unavoidable problems logging in to WoW. If a trial member has been removed for inactivity and were unable to inform us before the end of trial, they may contact one of the officers to discuss a possible re-invitation.

It will be assumed that trial members have made themselves aware of all the guild rules and are happy to abide by them. Ignorance is not an accepted excuse for rule infringements.


Alt. Members

Players may only have one character promoted through the ranking system, all other characters linked to a player will be put into this rank.

Alts must be logged on at least once a week.


Member

Members are people within the guild that have passed their trial period.


Veteran

This rank is purely an honorific gained via loyalty and maintaining our ethos with no responsibility tied therein. However, we do expect some deference to be shown to these players.

Please do not ask to be promoted to Veteran or how you may gain this rank. This will cause us to question your sincerity in being a good guild member.


Officer

The officers consist of Azura, Maldoror, Ragah and Schneeweiss. Their say in anything regarding the guild and its members is absolute.

This rank is not attainable by anyone else for the foreseeable future.



Breaking Rules

Rule infringements will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis depending on severity and repeat offences. Reprimands will vary from formal spoken warnings to removal from the guild.

There will be the ability to state your argument in any case, however you must be aware that to do this in ill temper will more likely impede rather than aid your case.

The guild rules are here to protect all members in the guild and the guild itself. If you have any query regarding these rules, please ask for clarification as ignorance will not be an accepted excuse for misdemeanours.


These rules of conduct are to be applied when acting inside and outside of the guild. All ranks of the guild, including the officers, are subject to them. Any persons acting against them will be dealt with.
